For a long time, it was hard to get me in front of a camera. Every pose seemed awkward, most of my smiles seemed forced. I probably couldn't name a favorite photo that included me in it.
In the last year of style blogging, I've had to pore over thousands of photos of myself. In an unexpected way, the daily task of looking has made me comfortable with myself -- my body, my gestures, my clothing. It's made me not necessarily a Narcissus, but appreciative of who I am.
Every once in awhile, though, I stumble on a photo of myself where I think I look not only good, but fantastic. Where I think, This is really me. This has captured the essence of me, where I feel like everything you may need to know about me is captured in picture form -- my laugh, pride, confidence, sense of humor -- it's all there.
I'm sure you have a photo that makes you feel the same way, and this is where you come in. I want to know what your favorite picture is of yourself, dear readers. Perhaps it captures a favorite activity, a memorable event, or a beloved outfit. Or maybe it was the first photo that made you consider your freckles or wrinkles or gray hairs or whatever as lovely attributes. Either way, I'm interested in having a showcase of you all at your best!
E-mail your favorite photo (title it "Favorite Photo Submission" in the e-mail subject), along with your name, blog title/url (if you have one), and a brief description of why it's your favorite. Send it in by next Monday at 5:00pm est, and I'll publish it here on Tuesday, Nov. 23rd. Spread the word -- the more, the merrier.
