I just haven't been feeling it this week. A combo of cold weather and waking up late almost every morning has had me schlepping it pretty badly. It's officially hit below the 40 degree mark in the metro Atlanta area, so unlike brave Nikki, this may be the last time in a while where I'll be able to rock the bare leg, open toe shoe look.
The dress was a college graduation gift to myself. It was originally $1000 but I found it in some secondhand store in Athens for about 90% off. I was super happy about it that I wore it to three events that week. The dress actually is a more muted color in real life, but for some reason my camera makes it look like a Technicolor explosion. I love orange and it may have almost usurped red as my favorite color. It works so well for fall.
I think I mentioned that I name most of my brooches...this one is named Greeley. The names just come to me.
Jeremiah is pretty proud that he got the two ducks behind me in the third photo... it's the little things, I suppose.

It's already been a good weekend. Friday night, Jeremiah and I had dinner with our friend Vargas and we went to go see Zombieland at the dollar theater. It was a pretty funny movie, after I got over the gruesome zombie blood parts (it's not really my genre). It's been a long time since I had been in a dollar theater. Even though we don't eat much movie popcorn (well, except during the whole-day Best Picture Showcase at AMC-- but that's another story), I love the smell of it. I think that's why I love visiting Target so much, because you're hit with the cafe's popcorn smell as soon as you walk inside. I remember reading in "The Lovely Bones" that in the protagonist Susie's heaven, she's surrounded by her earthly pleasures, like her favorite treat (peppermint ice cream, which is my fave too) and her favorite smell (skunk). I think if I could be followed by an odor all day, it would smell like movie popcorn all the time. What about you?

Have a good weekend!
